BIM Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional in architecture with a degree in Architecture, or a closely related field. Accredited NAAB or LAAB program preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years* of professional experience working as a BIM Manager, Architect, or Architectural Designer
  • Can work efficiently and effectively, and able to provide training/support to employees in the following: Autodesk Suite, Bluebeam and MS Office
  • Must have demonstrated experience working in Revit on both small and large-scale Architecture projects; woodframe architectural experience strongly preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

The BIM Manager will use their required qualifications and advanced knowledge and experience to establish, regularly update and maintain NSPJ’s BIM standards and practices. They will perform their job with significant autonomy. They’ll also collaborate with a team of colleagues who are BIM Specialists and can support the shared goals of the Firm’s BIM program. The BIM Manager is expected to utilize their required qualifications and advanced knowledge when exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of the following primary duties:

  • Responsible for managing Revit software updates, templates, add-ons, etc.
  • Develop BIM-related training and documents for in-house use; lead introductory training sessions for all new hires as part of the Onboarding process; provide training and support to Revit users on a regular basis as part of daily/weekly workflow
  • Utilizing required architectural knowledge, model and draft efficiently to develop and implement templates and standards; Build and troubleshoot flexible families & parameters; Manage work-shared models, both in-house and externally with consultants
  • Address and support project needs, necessary workflows, and comprehensive project deliverables for varied project and client types;
  • Proactively research and remain current on new technologies in the industry; Provide advice and informed recommendations on Firm adoption of technologies
  • Effectively coach and provide feedback and quality control for less-experienced Revit users; Will use BIM knowledge and experience to provide oversight and quality control on Revit-related work

ESSENTIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Full-time schedule required including daily, in-person attendance
  • Essential for the effective performance in this role and the successful operation of the Firm’s business, must be able to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and constructively in English with NSPJ employees, consultants, and clients to convey and understand details relating to projects and other business-related items. 
  • Collaborate with others and work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge and daily use of computers and the computer programs mentioned above
  • Able to work at a desk throughout the workday; adjustable (sit or stand) desks are standard
  • Must be able to see, interpret, and analyze data in color on computer screens/programs and paper
  • Performs effectively under conditions of occasional high stress and pressure

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess/own a smartphone in order to complete two-factor authentication required for some websites, programs
